How do I get inspiration?

Hi all! It's been a while since my last blog, so it's about time I get into writing again!
This blog is going to be about my last painting called "young red on a snowy night" and how I got my inspiration for this painting.
While living on a farm in Denmark, animals (inspiration) are always right around the corner. Not only the farmanimals on our farm, but ofcourse also a whole lot of wildlife.
For example did our neighbour farmer had a fox den in his silage stock. I had a kind of love/hate relationship with mother fox, who liked to hunt for her kids that ofcourse were hungry, but sometimes found it easier to join me in my garden (yes, you read that right WHILE I WAS IN THE GARDEN!) and try to come and get my chickens that were walking around me. Well, ofcourse this wasn't her fault, she just did what every good mother would do: feed her kids. And it ended with me locking up my chickens and her being forced to go hunt some wildlife again. But, anyway, to make a long story short, I love foxes and the way they look with their fluffy long tails, as long as they leave my chickens alone :) One day I got up really early in the morning with my camera and got some really nice photos from the cubs, I'll show them under this blog.
One thing I also love is snow, as soon as it snows I turn into this crazy little kid, jumping up and down and hurrying to go and build a snowman. Lucky for me we had some nice loads of snow here in Denmark the last couple of winters!
And last but not least, stars..... Well..... who doesn't like stars, I personally do not know anybody that doesn't like them. Ever since I was a little kid I have this crazy thing that I don't like to sleep with my curtains closed. While I still was living in the Netherlands as a kid this one big bright star was always shining in front of my bedroom window. This exact same star (yes I've looked that up) is shining just in front of my bedroom window here in Denmark. I find it kind of comforting to have this same star with me everywhere I go. Am I crazy? Maybe, but this craziness led to the stars on the painting of young red.
Last year has been hectic and this resulted in me being terribly late with making a "christmascard-painting". But only two nights ago I was lying on my bed, looking at the stars, thinking about if we would be getting snow again this winter, a fox was barking in the distance and there it was: my inspiration for my christmascard painting.
I have enjoyed every moment of painting this young red fox, and I hope you all will enjoy the painting and the christmascard that are being made of the painting.
Greetings Katinka
