When I was younger I used to play the flute. Soprano, alto and sopranino. My favourite was the sopranino and I loved to play the tunes from my sheet music named The Bird Fancyer's Delight. I simply loved the happy birdtunes.
I turned out to be quiet good at playing the flutes and people even advised me to enter the conservatory and study music. But I chose to study farming and animal care instead.
Now, I'm a bit older and I'm often to be found on our fields with animals.
Above my head the skylarks like to fly and sing there tunes.
Every once in a while when I'm looking at them I think about the flutes in my cupboard and what a shame it is that they have been in there for over 15 years.
Maybe it's time to get them out of there and see if I can start again. It will probably take me a long time before I'm back at the level I used to be and the birdsongs on my sheet music will be way to hard to start with.
Maybe I'll never get back at my old level and maybe that's totally fine, as long as I enjoy playing the music as much as the skylarks like to sing their song.
For now I started with painting one of the skylarks, the way I see them flying above my head. Offcourse I painted on a copy of my favourite sheet music and not on the real one, couse maybe one day I will be able to play the notes on the original again.
Greetings Katinka
